Vinyl & Leather Care
With your new or future investment comes questions about care. Whether it be Leather or Vinyl, taking proper care of your seat is crucial for the life and longevity of the seat. No matter what you’ve heard, Leather is Leather – that being said, you must expect to keep proper care of it.
Vinyl
Vinyl is virtually care-free. You still want to keep it out of the sun as much as possible to keep that brilliant or rich color. One thing with colored vinyl, is it sometimes changes colors, fades, darkens – things of that nature. To keep your vinyl in top shape, we recommend using 303 Aerospace Protectant, a product we’ve found reliable for many years.
Leather
Keeping your Leather hydrated is single-handedly the most important thing you can do for your seat, followed by keeping your seat from the sun as much as possible.
How do you win this battle? With leather treatment. There are a lot of leather care products out there. We recommend using products that are all natural; no harsh chemicals or cleaning agents. Most “cleaning agents” use harsh detergents that break down the leather and remove some of the dye. Thankfully, there are more than a few products available that are all natural and restore, protect and condition all in one. A few examples are:
- SkidMore’s Leather Cream - We now offer this!
- Bee Natural Leathercare
- Montana Pitch-Blend
Along with the use of such products, a bike cover goes a long way in protecting everything on your bike.
